City of Greenbelt skate park

WHERE: 99 Centerway Greenbelt, Maryland 20770

WHAT: An outdoor, concrete park with two bowls (one little and mellow; and one huge and gnarly) and a series of concrete banks, ledges, and quarter pipes.

GOOD: There’s a fun flow that takes you in and out of the bowl, and the part incorporates some unusual banks and ledges (always a plus in my book).

BAD: It’s built at an odd slant that takes a little bit to get used to. The smaller bowl is pretty mellow, and makes you do some work for speed.

OVERALL: This is a fun little park with some weird stuff that you’re probably not going to find in too many other places. The City of Greenbelt is one of the best examples of urban planning I’ve ever been through, with the entire city more or less built around an elaborate public park. That being said, it’s pretty hard to figure out where the hell you’re going, so print out a map.
